This first friday there are a couple shows around the city featuring little berlin members, Beth Heinly, Leslie Rogers and Tyler Kline. Beth Heinly and Leslie Rogers will be performing at Vox Populi, August 6th from 6-11pm. These will be one night only performances that celebrate Vox Populi’s upcoming performance space.
Beth will be conducting a public reading of “Art & Fear”, a self-help book for artists.

Leslie Rogers as Puppetyranny will be staging 3 plays in her mouth; “The Miracle of Birth,” “Catfight,” and “Italian Cooking 101.”

Leslie Roger’s mouth/stage

She will be performing with Zac Palladino (pictured below with stuff on him) and John Sinclair. John Sinclair presents, “Mystic Powers” a story written by Zac Palladino as a child. Vox’s press release puts it best..”A scrolling 100-foot live-action-picture-book, “Mystic Powers” is the hero’s journey as understood by 5-year-old Zac Palladino and retold using the crudest cantastoria. Be amazed.” Please visit Vox Populi’s website for even more information on the nights happenings.

Tyler Kline will be exhibiting at Vwvoffka’s “Speculative Ecology”.
Four Artists, Jesse Beamesderfer, Sarah Everton, Tyler Kline and Alyssa Maucere, create their own versions/visions of an environment. Strong Visual Representations. Four personal viewpoints depicting a balance between different worlds within their environment. Those worlds are the man-made world, the natural world and the metaphysical world.

Beth Heinly and Leslie Rogers will be performing tonight in “Le Cabaret Naivete” along with Candra Kennedy, John Sinclair and Zac Palladino. The performance will be at Sinergy Project Space + Gallery on the corner of Dauphin and American. It all starts at 8pm. Refreshments available and it will be hot, so dress light. Suggested donations, strongly suggested. All proceeds go to benefit Puppetyranny’s upcoming production of “Peter Pan” in Kensington Gardens a full length puppet and performance extravaganza based on J.M Barrie’s lesser known Peter Pan Story. Coming, August 13th, to the Emerald Street Urban Farm in our very own Kensington.

Worried baby by Zac Palladino

In “Le Cabaret Naivete” all the performances are based on stories written by the performers when they were children. Some of the stories were written with pride for mom and dad. Some of the stories were written in secret. Each one naively goes where no adult would dare. Expect a debaucherous evening with a splash of the weird, animal loving, racist, sexist thoughts from childhood ranging from 5 – 10 years old. Zines available for sale at the event if you decide to take the whole story home with you.

For reals…this artificial cloud was spotted above Little Berlin. I was sitting in the courtyard with Gabriel Boyce and Preston Link (upcoming show Breaking News) on Saturday, September 19th and we all witnessed the artificial cloud phenomenon. Click link below to see video. Also read comments with the video that verify that this was in fact an official NASA experiment and not a UFO. Everyone saw it at the same date and time. What is the purpose of this? Charged Aerosol Release Experiment a.k.a. CARE. An experiment used to view otherwise invisible clouds (noctilucent clouds) in the earth’s upper atmosphere that can normally only be seen during sunset.
In an attempt to study these clouds NASA released an aerosol that makes an artificial noctilucent cloud. Using the spatial heterodyne imager for mesospheric radicals a.k.a. SHIMMER, NASA will be able to track the artificial cloud for days or even months. What will this prove? Not only is NASA the best at providing an entertaining light show, but they are also extremely capable of coming up with clever acronyms.

This weekend three members of Little Berlin, Alex Gartelmann, Kristen Neville-Taylor and Beth Heinly will be participating in an art exhibit, The South Philadelphia Boat Show. This will be the first exhibit in a NEW and exciting space contrary to it’s name, STORAGE, located at 1414 Darien St. (in between and 8th and 9th on Reed). 1pm-7pm
Music and some beer provided. I’m totally into BYOB art openings.
And this is an opening..the artwork in thus show will only be on view this Saturday and Sunday, it is a boat show.
All the artwork in this exhibit is influenced by all things nautical and artists. I expect to see the horizon will be blurred or not. Like most first art shows in a new space the concept is open and all are invited. This is a rare chance to see all types of artists under the philly sun together making art under a single goal, boats and things seen from boats. Or maybe not, but that’s art. A much needed vacation from the standard, this show will rock your boat.
Based on the formidable gathering STORAGE founders Jake Kehs and Preston Link, co-curator Gabriel Boyce put together, this is an address I’m sure to remember. Plus, they’re my friends. RIDE YOUR BIKE!
ARTISTS:
Sara Atlas, Nick Balko, Gabriel Boyce, Chang Chang, Danielle Conkling, Alex Curtis, Jamieson Daley, Adriane Dalton, Nathan Dixon, A Dufala, Wyatt Dunn, Michael Eddinger, Joy Feasley, Alex Gartelmann, Richard Harrod, Beth Heinly, Katie Henry, Joseph Hu, Darla Jackson, Jake Kehs, Gabrielle Lavin, Preston Link, Tristin Lowe,Jacob Lunderby, Amy Mash, Jeremiah Misfeldt, Kristen Neville, Joslyn Newman, Scott Pellnat, Leslie Rogers, Raul Romero, Hiro Sakaguchi, Paul Swenbeck, Candace Vivian, Casey Watson

*All the artists listed above are google searchable.
LATER AT LB..MUSIC! Why/No 6pm-10pm
Just follow Beth! (ME)
